SEX AND THE INTERNET SURVEY RESULTS

Here are the main findings of our recent survey on Sex and the Internet:

And this is what Tracey Cox, our sex and relationship expert, said about the results:

This is a far cry from the traditional view of teenagers being awkward, shy and ill-informed about sex. There's no doubt SNC’s have had a dramatic impact on teenage sexuality and their access to information about sex.

On the positive side, it means teens are much better informed about sex and almost all research suggests access to good, non-judgemental information about sex decreases the incidence of pregnancy and STIs. The negative is that some teens lack the maturity and judgement to deal with a lot of the information they’re now exposed to.

It's not fair to say that 'poking' [sending an online signal to show you find someone attractive] makes people promiscuous but there certainly needs to be some policing.
